Pitt Meadows firefighters race up 48 storeys for BC Lung Foundation

For the second straight year, Pitt Meadows Firefighters took on the Climb the Wall challenge on March 1, to fundraise for the BC Lung Foundation.

More than 380 participants took part in the Foundation’s 25th anniversary fundraising event. This annual stair climb challenge has become increasingly popular with fire departments from across the province. The event saw more than 250 firefighters race to the 48th storey of the iconic Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre.

The event raised more than $165,000. The Pitt Meadows firefighters contributed just over $1,000.

“We got involved in the event last year for the first time because we thought it was a great event that supports a great cause,” said Pitt Meadows firefighter Alexander Ball. “Many departments have been involved in it over the years and we are proud to say that we are too now.”
