Maple Ridge homebuilders up for handful of industry honours

Two builders, who have completed two very different type of residential projects in Maple Ridge, are up for national industry accolades.

Paddington Properties’ Cameron project, with 37 single-family luxury homes in rural Maple Ridge, is a finalists in two categories in the 34th annual Georgie Awards.

These awards recognize resilience, creativity, and craftmanship of B.C.’s homebuilding industry in a year that demands nothing less, said Rob Viccars, communication director for Canadian Homebuilders’ Association of BC.

Projects and products built, renovated, developed, created and/or marketed for the period of Jan. 1, 2024 to Oct. 31, 2025, are eligible for the 2026 Georgie Awards, which will be presented on May 23 at a gala in Vancouver’s Hyatt Regency.

The Surrey-based developer, working on a number of residential projects throughout the Lower Mainland, is in the running for a pair of the CHBA BC awards, namely the best single-family detached home of more than 2,500 square feet and worth more than $750,000. They’re also vying to be the best single-family home production development in the province.

A gated townhouse community in the Silver Valley neighbourhood is also garnering attention, this tie for a Langley-based real estate developer.

Woodlock Developments, and its Everwood project, are up for four Georgie Awards.

Everwood was shortlisted in four awards categories, including best multi-family townhouse development with more than 10 units (including mixed use), best new multi-family kitchen, and best interior design display suite (single-family or multi-family).

Woodlock – which also has a number of other past and current residential projects going up in Maple Ridge – is also up for one of the highly coveted industry honours. They’re in the running for the best residential community of the year for Everwood, which was also given a HAVAN Award for Housing Excellence in 2025.

One of these 35 three- or four-bedroom homes could be won by those who buy a Hometown Heroes Lottery ticket through the VGH and UBC Hospital Foundation.

Georgie Awards are coordinated by the CHBA BC, the leading advocate of the residential construction industry, representing 2,350 member companies through its eight affiliated home building associations. Members are primarily small- and medium-sized businesses including builders, renovators, tradespeople, service professionals, and suppliers.

This year’s award finalists and winners, as in past, are selected by a juding panel of out-of-province industry professionals.
