An Ontario man faces multiple charges for assault and mischief following an investigation and altercation in September at the Edgewood ostrich farm, Nakusp police announced.

Sixty-year-old Timothy Regan is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 8, 2026, on charges of assault, assault with a weapon and mischief, Nakusp RCMP shared Thursday, Dec. 11.

The federal agency had requested BC RCMP officers to attend the ostrich farm, “keep the peace” and “enforce the law” while inspecting three different properties.

The officers were informed about an altercation at one of the adjacent properties, and arrested the suspect, “who was associated to the protest camp,” without incident.

A 73-year-old female victim, involved in the altercation, received medical assistance from the RCMP on site, Nakusp police added.
