53,000 fans expected at sold-out Whitecaps playoff game Nov. 22

Soccer fans will have to get friendly with a third-party ticket seller if they want to attend the Whitecaps FC playoff game Saturday, Nov. 22.

The Western Conference semifinal vs. Los Angeles FC is officially sold-out with 53,000 fans expected at BC Place Stadium for the 6:30 p.m. game, the Whitecaps announced Friday (Nov. 14).

Thomas Müller and the ‘Caps will battle the Son Heung-Min-led L.A. in a third consecutive MLS Cup playoff match for the rival teams. Vancouver is aiming to reach the league’s Western Conference Final for the first time in club history

Fans are urged to arrive early at the stadium, where doors will open at 4:30 p.m.

The game will be televised on MLS Season Pass and Apple TV — not TSN.

Game-going fans will receive a limited-edition playoff rally towel. “Please note that for this match, reusable water bottles will not be allowed in the venue and for ease of entry, fans are also encouraged not to bring a bag,” the Whitecaps caution.

On Oct. 26, a crowd of 32,066 at BC Place saw the Whitecaps dominate FC Dallas, 3-0, in Game 1 of their playoff series, won by Vancouver in a Nov. 1 shootout in Texas.

The sell-out on Nov. 22 will rival the 53,837 attendance for the Whitecaps’ 2-0 win over the Lionel Messi-led Inter Miami CF last April, in a Concacaf Champions Cup semifinal.

The largest Whitecaps crowd at the stadium dates back to the NASL days of June 1983 when 60,342 fans witnessed the home team top Seattle Sounders 2-1 during the very first sporting event at BC Place.

This season to date, the Whitecaps have welcomed 536,298 spectators to BC Place in 2025, the highest such total in club history.
