Shots were fired at an Abbotsford business early Wednesday morning (Nov. 12), but nobody was injured.
The Abbotsford Police Department reported Wednesday afternoon that they were notified at 6:40 a.m. about bullet holes in the front window of a business in an industrial complex in the 31000 block of King Road.
The business was closed at the time, police said.
“Investigators are working closely with the business owners to determine the motive of this incident, which remains unclear,” a press release stated.
Anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area of King Road between Townline and Clearbrook roads between midnight and 4 a.m or who has dash-cam footage is asked to contact Abbotsford Police at 604-859-5225.
This is the fourth shooting in Abbotsford since Oct. 25 and the ninth since Sept. 1.
One of the shootings was fatal. Darshan Sashi, 68, was gunned down inside his truck outside his home in the 31300 block of Ridgeview Drive on Oct. 27.
Later that day, a 41-year-old man was airlifted to hospital after being shot in the 33200 block of George Ferguson Way.
These incidents followed one that occurred two days earlier, when one person was taken to hospital with minor injuries after shots were fired in the area of Clearbrook and Downes roads.
Five shootings also occurred in September:
• Sept. 1 at a home on Balfour Drive;
• Sept. 5 at a home on Terminal Court;
• Sept. 6 on Nightingale Drive, resulting in a man being taken to hospital with critical injuries;
• Sept. 15 on Eagle Peak Drive, where two cars were also set on fire; and
• Sept. 20 on Brookside Avenue.
No charges have been laid in any of the incidents, according to the provincial court database.
